Shared gear
The squadron hanger: a shared fleet with role-aware access, cost context, and checkout tracking.
Squadrons share a fleet hanger: club quads, pack pools, radios, goggles, and equipment that moves between pilots. The same gear model as a personal hanger is applied to a shared organization, with role-aware views.
Who can add and edit gear
- Owners and managers can manage the shared fleet and set purchase costs.
- Members can add or edit gear by default when the organization grants gear editing; an owner can turn that permission off per member or through a role template.
- Money fields stay restricted to owners, managers, and authorized platform staff.
See Roles & permissions.
Checkouts
For ordinary shared gear, members can check an item out to themselves and check it back in. The history keeps who had what and when.
The dedicated Asset Check-Out Vault adds QR/barcode scanning, manual code entry, an organization-wide item roster, expected return dates, active/overdue dashboard rows, and atomic server-side availability checks. It is available for squadron organizations. School organizations assign equipment through the classroom roster instead.
Usage and costs
Sessions flown against shared gear count toward squadron roster statistics and the squadron ledger. Shared battery sets accumulate pack counts across members.
Check-out records track custody; they do not replace a flight session. Log the actual flight separately and bind the equipment used there.
