Saved flight locations

Save the places you fly so a session can carry useful site context without retyping it.

A saved flight location is a personal site label such as Ridgeview field or North gate. It makes the place part of the flight record without turning BeaconUAV into a map or airspace filing tool.

Choose a saved site

When you log a session, open the Location field and choose one of your saved sites. Existing sessions can keep the field empty. Location is optional, and older records remain valid.

Save a site while logging

You do not need to leave the log dialog:

  1. Open New site beside the Location field.
  2. Enter a name up to 120 characters.
  3. Select Save.
  4. BeaconUAV selects the new site on the session automatically.

Names are case-insensitive for duplicate protection, so saving the same site twice is avoided.

What locations are, and what they are not

  • Locations belong to your personal account and are not shared with a squadron.
  • A location is a name and optional site notes, not a GPS track, map pin, geofence, or airspace authorization.
  • BeaconUAV does not file LAANC requests or verify that a location is legal to fly. Keep the appropriate airspace evidence with your operational records.
Tip:

Use a stable name for a site and put changing details in the session notes: for example, the gate used, track layout, or field conditions.
